In the land of Kandamadhanam (Rameshwaram), Lord Sita devi, the image of Mahalaxmi, made this Ramanathar by piling sand with her hands. (Shiva Lingam). This lingam is full of gods and goddesses like Brahma, Vishnu, Ruthra, Indra, Ashtadikpalaka, Brahmarishis, all tirthas, Saraswati, Mahalaxmi and Parvati.

- One who worships Sri Ramanatha for three times is free from all sins and has the great privilege of culminating with Parameswara.
